We’re an easy, turnkey duo with our own PA and lighting. We just need a safe, dry place to play and reliable power. If anything below is a challenge at your venue, tell us early and we’ll work with you.
Performance Basics
- Set format: 2 sets of 75 minutes, with a 30-minute break
- Arrival / setup: We need access to the performance area 60–90 minutes before first downbeat (60 minutes minimum)
- Soundcheck: We’ll do a brief line check/soundcheck right before we start
Requirements (MUST-HAVES)
1) Power
- Please provide one dedicated 20-amp, 120V AC, 60Hz circuit within 25 feet of the performance area (standard U.S. power).
- A standard 3-prong grounded outlet is required.
- Please avoid sharing our circuit with heavy/variable loads (refrigerators, freezers, neon signs, etc.).
If a generator is used:
- It must be a commercial / event-grade generator suitable for audio production with stable, clean power (often described as inverter-grade or “low THD”).
- Consumer/contractor generators (the typical homeowner/park-party kind) are not acceptable for powering audio gear - please talk to us if issue.
2) Playing Surface / Stage
- We need a solid, level playing surface, preferably elevated 6 inches or more.
- We cannot perform on grass, gravel, dirt, sand, or similar surfaces.
- If the surface is plywood, it must be fully stable with no gaps, flexing, or tripping hazards. A large rug or covering over plywood is appreciated.
3) Weather Protection (Dry Zone)
- The performance area must be completely dry underfoot and protected from above.
- Water and moisture can damage gear, so for outdoor shows we require secure overhead cover (tent, awning, roof) that completely protects us and our gear from rain.
- If using a tent, it must be properly secured/weighted and safe for wind conditions.
4) Safety and Security
- We and our gear must be safe and secure throughout the engagement, including load-in, performance, breaks, and load-out.
- Please keep the performance area clear of hazards and provide reasonable protection from theft/damage in high-traffic settings.
5) Payment
- Full payment is due after we are set up (before we begin the performance - preferred).
- Preferred: Cash
- Also accepted: Check, Venmo, or payment as determined through our agent if booked that way.
- We will deliver the show on time as agreed.
6) Promotion
- Please promote us as: The Scotty and Rick Show
- You can find us on Facebook and at www.thescottyandrickshow.com (we will post your event there too).
7) Requests
- WE ARE A COVER ACT WITH A SET LIST. WE ARE NOT A REQUEST BAND.
Appreciated (Nice-to-Haves, Not Required)
These are optional, and always appreciated when possible:
- A private, secure room or area for gear bags, changing, and personal items
- A second dedicated circuit if available: two 20-amp circuits from the same electrical panel/leg, both properly grounded (helpful for extra headroom and avoiding noise)
- Free drinks (a stocked cooler near the stage is perfect). We promise to act like adults.
- Free food, even a couple appetizers goes a long way
Quick Note on Electrical (Plain English)
We keep it simple: one solid, grounded 20A circuit is usually perfect. Two circuits are helpful if they’re clean, grounded, and from the same panel. If that sentence made someone’s eyes glaze over, no problem. Just tell us what power is available and we’ll work with you.
Above all please communicate anything unusual and we will do the same and have a fun and successful event.
